The Hawkgas 12 range of switchgear succeeded the South Wales Switchgear C & D range, and is available for service voltages through the range to 13.8kV. The equipment is an air insulated, metalclad switchgear, incorporating a vertically isolated, horizontal withdrawal SF6 Circuit Breaker. It can be used to extend low type C & D switchgear with no busbar adapter chamber. For extensions to high type C & D switchgear busbar adapter chambers are required. |

The non-oil concept allows the Hawkgas 12 unit to be deployed in areas where fire risks are a major consideration. |
